According to Vivian Dessy Diamond, creative director at The Dessy Group, bridesmaids’ dresses are taking a bolder step forward for 2010 with colors such as Claret, Aubergine and Amethyst becoming even more prominent. Dressing bridesmaids in a monochromatic spectrum going from light to dark, another hot new trend for 2010, is being used to add style, personality and drama. Of course, we are still seeing brides choosing one color and having their bridesmaids pick the dress best suited to their style and figure, but now we’re seeing different fabric choices and hem lengths appearing in a single wedding party. Bold color accents on sashes, belts, jewelry and accessories are an exciting way to personalize your look. Brighter jewel tones in new fabrics like Dupioni and Peau de Soie offer great new options, and classic softer palettes in soft grays, pinks and yellows are always popular.
